Process, Policies & Procedures (3Ps)
Every system within an organization is based on these three things. And to be successful you need all (3). But sometimes, they crash into each other. It’s important that there is a clear and consistent understanding, utilization, and communication of the proper use of processes, policies, and procedures across the system. Policies are the first step in this process. They drive procedures and those procedures eventually drive consistent outcomes for our persons served. We help evaluate and organize policies with assigned process & content owners, develop formal procedures that support nimble management, and establish operational work standards and guides that promote both integrity and compliance. With these in place, you have a running start at improving system capacity.
Risk Assessment
'Risks' (generally speaking) are those things that can go wrong in an organization. While it's impossible to eliminate risks. But it's also difficult to function when you're always worried about everything that can go wrong and what that will mean for the organization. A formalized risk assessment is an objective way that an organization can identify, evaluate and prioritize the potential events that can negatively impact the people you serve, your employees, and your assets. Importantly, the risk assessment helps you establish priorities for addressing risks (those things that could go wrong) and mitigate them. We can help coordinate and facilitate a risk assessment using an objective methodology to evaluate the likelihood and potential impact of possible reputational, operational, financial, and technological threats to help the organization understand its inherent risk exposure. Once you have an objective view of the “inherent risks” you can plan and allocate resources to build controls or mitigation strategies to prevent them from occurring OR diminish the impact if they occur. Gaining an understanding of inherent risk will help the organizational leadership develop an early view to prioritize work.
Benchmarking & Modeling
Many times in the health and human service industry you hear the words 'Best Practices'. Best Practices ensure the best balance between both compliance (meeting standards) and integrity (doing the right thing every time) within your systems. Benchmarking and modeling are methods we use for comparing the current state of a department or program to industry Best Practices. These assessments can include evaluating and analyzing existing compliance & integrity program model for operational efficiency and/or comparing current operations against regulatory and quality standards (such as HIPAA and accreditation), human resource operations, or a particular service line. The benchmarking and modeling service generally result in a gap analysis to identify opportunities for improvement.
Education & Training
Education raises awareness about a subject (such as Compliance or Risk Management) and provides knowledge. Training on the other hand focused more on developing the skills needed to apply that knowledge. Both are necessary and go hand in hand. We offer support for both adapting and customizing compliance & integrity materials in an effective and efficient manner for colleagues as well as developing supports for leaders. In addition, we can tailor training to fit the specific needs while ensuring all required subject matter is covered.
Consultation & Problem Solving
Interpreting and adapting operations to the evolving regulatory landscape sometimes requires consultation and problem-solving. We offer simple, practical support to help organization leaders navigate challenging waters, clarify strategy, and find solutions that stick.
Coaching
In the complex behavioral healthcare or ID/A industry, it can be difficult to support leaders and leadership development. We offer one-on-one partnership centered on assessing strengths and opportunities to support people development and organizational capacity building.
